Cora & Jordan | Portland, ME | August 26, 2021
Ok, ok. Super bad at blogging over here. Really going to try to make an effort to stay more on top of that. And to highlight how bad I am, let’s rewind allllllll the way to last year to Cora and Jordan’s day!
Cora and Jordan had such a cool wedding day! I met up with Cora and the gals at the Hyatt Place in Downtown Portland, ME where they were doing their hair and make-up, laughing and just spending some downtime before the first look with Jordan. Cora didn’t have traditional bridesmaids. Instead, she had her nearest and dearest friends choose a dress of their own, get extra pretty and just come along for the ride that day. No matching dresses. It just created such an intimacy to the day.
I left Cora for a bit to go see Jordan in a room on a different floor of the hotel. Unlike Cora’s bustling room, Jordan was by himself getting ready. I didn’t mind this one bit as we were able to get some very GQ-esque photos of the groom getting ready (tell me I’m wrong).
Cora and Jordan planned a first look (which I’m a fan of, btw!) They scouted out a super cool location, down an alley just a block from the hotel right outside Via Vecchia restaurant. Jordan’s jaw hit the floor when he saw his stunning bride, and I need to give a special shout out to Cora’s friends who cleared the area for this special moment!
Because we had a first look, we were able to take our bride and groom formals before the ceremony even began! So, we all caravanned over to Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth where the ceremony would be overlooking Portland Head Light. Cora, Jordan and I were able to take our time with their formal photos, using an old castle as their backdrop. So cool.
The ceremony was casually on the lawn overlooking Portland Head Light and the vast Atlantic Ocean. Guests circled around the bride and groom as they spoke their vows and sealed it with a long first kiss!
Of course we had to take advantage of the scenery, so you can see Portland Head Light from each family photo (framer!) We also had time for a few more bride and groom photos right underneath the lighthouse before heading back to downtown Portland and Dimillio’s on the Water for a reception.
Since photos were so important to Cora and Jordan, we left the dinner to go out on the docks around the restaurant to snag some photos as the sun was setting. Even though the sun was far behind the surrounding buildings, these photos ended up being some of my favorite.
I will always remember Cora and Jordan’s wedding day in Portland, ME and am so glad I was a part of it! Cheers Cora and Jordan!
